Being an outstanding tennis player, he became the best player among Saint Petersburg amateurs, the winner of the tournaments "White Nights", "Petersburg duet", "Cup of the press", "Governor's tournament". He is also a co-owner and the major ideologist of the tournament "St.Petersburg Open" with the award budget of $800,000. Since 1997, Mikhail Mikhailovich Mirilashvili has been a permanent resident of Leningrad and later Saint-Petersburg. Since 1979 was married to Laura Shaptoshvili. They have raised two children - daughter Tamara and son Vyacheslav. At the present moment, they live and study abroad. In 2000 Tamara got married.
